Willie Nelson

Willie's still got it!  He may be 80 years old but he can still put on a great show.  We headed out to the Backyard at Bee Caves which is a great amphitheater in town and enjoyed an evening with the one and only.

Golf

Another great Sunday Funday was in store for us this weekend, we hit the golf course in our neighborhood for a round and enjoyed a perfect date day together!

The Krantz' Visit

The Krantz' Come to Town!  Katie had a work trip to Austin this week and convinced Brian to join her for their last vacation before Baby K arrives ;)  It was Brian's first time to Austin so we tried to do as much exploring as possible.

We had an interesting Friday night downtown on 6th St, it started off by crashing the Senior Citizens showcase at Esther Follies.  We've heard great things about this comedy club but I think we were the wrong target audience for the nights show.  Literally 75% of the audience had name tags on and were bused in from the local retirement home.  It still made for some awkward laughs though.  To make up for it, Shaun & Brian decided to act like college kids and crush some tall $1 Lonestars on East 6th Street afterwards.  We went from one extreme to the other ;)

Saturday we had a leisurely day enjoying the outdoors.  Katie was a trooper, at 7 months pregnant she hoped on a bike and rode all around Town Lake.  We stopped and relaxed in Zilker Park for awhile and then returned to Mellow Johnnie's hoping for a Lance Armstrong sighting but no luck.  From there we headed out to the original Salt Lick to enjoy some authentic Texas BBQ and live music.

It was a great weekend, we really miss our old roomie and can't wait to meet her new little man soon enough!

Easter Weekend

We had a gorgeous weekend here in Austin to celebrate Easter.  We had a cookout on Saturday and then baskets full of goodies to keep us going on Sunday.  The Easter Bunny is too good to us ;)

Tosh Comedy Show

What better way to spend a night than laughing!  It's been ages since we've been to a comedy club so we jumped at the chance to go see Tosh when he came into town.  The theatre was packed and we were probably some of his older fans but than again we do live in a college town.  None the less we had a blast and did get a mini ab workout from laughing so hard!

Gorman Falls

When we first moved to Austin I had stocked up on all these local magazines to find out the best places to go and things to do around town and Gorman Falls was one of the hikes listed as a must do.  We had been meaning to do it forever but since it's a two hour drive kept putting it off.  We finally ended up with a weekend with no plans and decided it was time.  They're pet friendly so we packed up the car, Cali included, and headed out.  I'm sure Cali wishes we had left her at home though!  It ended up being a super hot long walk to the falls with no shady spots for the pup to stop and rest.  Shaun was a trooper and ended up carrying Cali a lot of the way.  But in the end it was a beautiful view and I'm glad we made the trek!  Next time we just know to leave the pup at home.
