Celebs at the Derby

We might not be A listers for the Kentucky Derby Red Carpet but we did make the cut at the Kentucky Oaks on Friday!!! You be the judge but I think our shots beat out all the D list celebs that actually walked the carpet Derby Day.




After a long road trip adventure we finally got to Louisville on Thursday evening just in time to head down to the Chow Wagon. The Chow Wagon runs for about two weeks and allows you to stuff your face with carnival food and enjoy some live music but boy were we surprised when Blake Shelton took that stage. We didn’t realize what was in store for us this weekend, we had surprise concerts all weekend long! Not only did Blake appear on Thursday night but we had a free concert from OAR after the Oaks on Friday. We were loving every minute of it!!!



We upgraded our seats this year to the infield club but still had to take Meredith out to the real infield to experience the Mardi Gras atmosphere. It only took about 5 minutes before we were exposed to flashing so the spirit lives on! Meredith had beginners luck betting on all the horse races but none of us actually ended up betting on the Derby winner. There were three long shots (50-1) in the Derby Race and we bet on the other two, go figure. All in all it was a blast and we can’t wait to go back again and continue to upgrade our seats. One day we’ll be in Millionaires Row =)
